A tile order

Isn’t it tempting (even smarter) to play it safe when it comes to ceramic floor tiles? Choose wooden flooring that goes well with your furniture and you are done. But there are not many choices when it comes to wood planks. If you are one of those who love Mother Nature, the wooden tiling would mean a dent on your soul (and your eco-friendly image). And then there is the durability factor. Wooden floorings need a lot more care than your average tile. But would you go all out and bring home something bizarre just to prove that your house (and, in turn you) have a personality?

So when Somany Ceramics launched a range of chic alternative to wooden glazed tile, we decided to check it out.

Duragres Planks is a decorative range of faux wood tiles that comes in a variety of designs and finish. “Our R&D team has worked hard to create closest replica of wood grain designs. What makes these planks stand apart is ease of installation and better resistance against natural wear and tear,” says Abhishek Somany, MD, Somany Ceramics.

Since there is no real wood involved, the range is eco-friendly. The planks come in six styles—Full Polished Glamor Tiles, Dazzle, Natural Rock, Vintage Wood, Modern Wood and Exotic Wood—and mirrors a particular natural finish such as stone, marble, granite, or wood patterns. You can also get a fully customised finish.

Available in three sizes (196×200 mm, 145×600 mm, 128×800 mm) at Somany Exclusive Stores and Experience Centres across India, the price ranges from `100 to `170 per square feet.
